Ed Fadel

On November 30, 2018, we lost our business partner and close friend to a heart attack. The loss was sudden, unexpected, devastating, and a constant reminder of how precious life is and how important it is to use our brief time here as well as we possibly can.

Ed was a founding member of 10X Business Consulting LLC and is remembered dearly by his partners Kent Wagner and Paul Mayer. In his honor, 10% of all 10X profits will be given to Ed's family. The memory of his business acumen, his wit, and his smile will be our battle cry as we do our utmost to keep his legacy alive and well to help make the world a little better one business at a time.

Ed was an intrepid entrepreneur, starting, operating, and advising numerous start-ups in the Research Triangle Park and beyond. Over the last 30 years, Ed has positively impacted the lives of hundreds of fellow entrepreneurs, making an indelible mark on the world.

Ed was a kind and loving man, a sweet and selfless husband, a loving father, brother, son, brother-in-law, uncle, and loyal friend. Everyone who met Ed remembers his kind smile, quick wit, and generosity.

Ed is survived by his wife Anna, his three beautiful daughters Sydney, Lindsay, and Georgia, his brothers Rick (Liz), Bob (Cathe), and Russ (Pam), and his sister, Pam Morgan. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Maureen.

Ed was born September 4, 1962, in Okinawa, Japan. His father was a US Army Officer and as a child, Ed lived in seven states and two countries. His family settled in Fairfax, Virginia where Ed attended high school. He attended Duke University, graduated in 1984 as a mechanical engineer, and started his career with Westinghouse in Sumter, SC. In 1987, Ed decided to return to his entrepreneurial roots and moved back to the Research Triangle in North Carolina. There Ed co-founded CD Superstore, the nation's first CD-only retail chain. After 7 years of successful operation, CD Superstore was acquired by Borders Books and Music.
